These sea urchins were found loose in the outcropping Miocene coral sands at the now historic site. When found, they are completely covered with firmly baked sand and are freed of it by grinding. Thereafter, the fossils were assembled into pieces of the solidified original sediment. Such attractive handpieces can only be obtained through this complex preparation.
