This South American palm produces the initially tasty tagua nuts, which become hard like bone substance after drying over a long period of time and are then used as so-called vegetable ivory for carving. The infructescence is made up of many of these segments, but is extremely difficult to prepare as a whole. You will receive the fruit together with the tagua nut shown.
