Morpho didius is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful of the approximately 70 different Morpho species. The dark blue, metallic coloring is caused by light refraction on the particularly shaped scales on the upper side of the wings. That is why Morpho preparations do not discolor over a long period of time.
The installation of the zoological specimen in the front glazed frame was made in a German taxidermy studio.
