Fruiting bodies of one of about eighty species of Banksia endemic exclusively to the Australian continent. The cone was harvested green so it hasn't been charred by bushfires. The actual seed pods were opened by carefully heating them to over 50 degrees Celsius. This species grows endemic to humid sites in southwestern Australia to form evergreen shrubs up to 20 m tall. Preferred locations for these plants are damp depressions between coastal dunes.
