Serrasalmus rhombeus, known as the black piranha, belongs to the Serrasalmidae family (saw tetras) and is an impressive representative of the tropical waters of South America. This specimen is provided with a short fishing line with a hanger at the end and is ideal for decorative presentation. The characteristic, sharp teeth are clearly visible and are an indication of the predatory lifestyle of these fish. The well-known piranhas of the Amazon region have increased so much due to dam projects, especially in Brazil, that they hardly allow any other fish species in some waters. In addition, they have been introduced to regions such as Southeast Asia and India through fish farming projects, where they cause considerable problems in local fish farming.
