Rochia Nilotica, known as a tectus snail or trade tower snail, belongs to the family of the Tegulidae and is a large sea snail with a maximum housing length of up to 16.5 cm. Their distribution area extends across the entire Indopazacifik, from Madagascar and Sri Lanka to French-Polynesia, Japan, Hawaii and Australia. This durable species can live up to 15 years old and lives in depths of up to 20 meters. Because of its economic importance, it is fished commercially, at the same time there are targeted efforts to breed them in aquacultures to relieve the natural population. The controlled breeding contributes to enabling sustainable use of this snail and securing your stocks in the long term.
