Mosasaurus beaugei, known as the mosasaur, belongs to the family Mosasauridae (Meadow lizards) and is an impressive fossil from the Upper Cretaceous, about 90 million years old. This marine reptile lived in the oceans of the Cretaceous period and is one of the largest and best-known representatives of marine reptiles. The jaw reconstruction presented here was assembled from original teeth of Mosasaurus beaugei. The fossil parts that do not directly belong together were stabilized as close to the original as possible on phosphate sand from the site in Morocco. This assembly was carried out with the greatest care in order to preserve the character of the fossil and to show the impressive structure and function of the teeth of this marine reptile.
