Mitra Papalis, known as the papal crown (English: Papal / Pontifical Mitre), belongs to the Mitridae family (co -snail) and the Mitrinae subfamily. This impressive sea snail is widespread in the tropical waters of the western Indopazacific, especially around India. It mainly lives in coral reefs and rocky substrates in depths of up to 30 meters. With a length of up to 16.5 cm, it is one of the larger representatives of her family. The pointed housing of mitra papalis impresses with its cream -white basic color, which is crossed by striking brown and reddish patterns.
