Mimachlamys Crassicostata, known as a noble Jakobsmussel (English: Noble Scallop), belongs to the family of the Pectinidae (comb mussels) and the under -family Pedinae. This type of shell can reach a size of up to 9.5 cm and is widespread in the northwestern Pacific and Indian Ocean. It lives in different sea floors such as rocks, corals and sand surfaces and is bred for human consumption. Megabalanus Tintinnabulum, seapox from the Balanidae family, have settled on the surface of this shell. These ceremonial crayfish are widespread in West Africa and parts of the Indopazacifiks and are preferably adhered to on hard substrates such as rocks, ship bumps or mussel shells. Every hard -wing tropical waters is in a short time in the freely swimming larvae of various, otherwise stuck organisms. This creates fascinating communities, as can be observed here on the scallop.
