Chrysiridia rhipheus, also known as the rainbow moth or urania moth, belongs to the Uraniidae family and is endemic to Madagascar. This moth is known for the unusual surface structure of its wing scales, which shimmer in rainbow colors and give it its mesmerizing appearance. Although predominantly nocturnal, it also flies during the day and, due to its vibrant colors, is a striking specimen in the insect world. The back of the moth is equally spectacular, featuring complex patterns and colors.
The installation of the zoological specimen in the plexiglass box was made in a German taxidermy studio.
