Callipara Kurodai, known as Kurodas Lyria rolling snail (English: Kuroda's Lyria Volute), belongs to the family of the Volutidae (roller snails) and the Volutinae subfamily. This seaside snail reaches a length of up to 9.5 cm and is characterized by its smooth, often artistically patterned housing. The genus Callipara currently comprises about 10 species (as of 02/2025), with slight deviations exist depending on the source. Their distribution area extends over the Indian ocean off the coast of East Africa. Due to its appealing appearance and rarity, it is valued for both collectors and in scientific collections.
