Cut agates are often uniformly gray, yet they exhibit various microporous, concentric layers. These layers can be colored using specialized dyeing methods. Techniques for dyeing agates were developed as early as the Middle Ages and are still in use today. The challenge lies in finding pigments with molecular chains small enough to penetrate the microscopic pores.
The slice comes with a custom-made wooden stand and a matching tealight.
